About Us

Who we are

NG Bookkeeping is an accounts and bookkeeping practice serving Auckland and Wellington, built to replace the in-house finance function for property businesses and SMEs with revenue up to $10 million.

Most businesses between $2 million and $10 million are too big to run the accounts off the owner's laptop and too small to justify a finance department. They end up with one in-house accountant carrying everything, or a bookkeeper plus an external firm that only appears at year-end. Either way the owner is still doing accounts admin.

We fix that. Our bookkeepers run the accounts function end to end on a fixed calendar, and specialist accountants with experience in your industry review every report and write the commentary before anything reaches you.

Property first

The practice grew out of property. Rent rolls, outgoings recoveries, multi-entity structures and lender reporting are what we do most, and the discipline of property accounting carries into every other sector we serve.

What we provide

Everything a business needs from its accounts function, in plain language:

  • Monthly management reports with commentary
  • Budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Operating expense (opex) budgets and capital expenditure (capex) tracking
  • Property reports: rent rolls, arrears, outgoings recoveries and lease maintenance
  • Lender and investor reporting
  • Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and month-end close
  • Invoicing, debtor follow-up, supplier bills and payment runs
  • Payroll
  • GST and tax returns, and dealing with IRD on your behalf
  • Year-end accounts
  • Company set-up and wind-down
  • Anything else the business needs reported, tracked or reconciled

Systems we work in

Re-Leased, Xero, OPM, MRI, ApprovalMax, Lentune, MYOB and most CRM platforms. If you do not have a system in place yet, bank statements are enough to start with; we will set up what fits as we go.

Our team

The practice is led by director Nihal Goel, with day-to-day bookkeeping run by Vishal, who has more than ten years in accounts. Meet the team.

How we work

Books are kept current, not reconstructed at year-end. Month-end closes on a fixed date. Every pack is reviewed by someone other than the person who prepared it. You receive one page of commentary that says what happened, what it means and what needs a decision.

Fees are fixed and agreed in advance, scoped to entities, transaction volume and reporting. Hourly work is available at $70 to $150 for one-off projects.
