Construction accounting is job accounting. Every dollar has to land on a job, and the reviewer has to know what a claim, a retention and a variation look like in the ledger.

What we track

Costs are coded to jobs as they arrive: labour, materials, subcontractors and plant. Progress claims are raised on the contract schedule and reconciled to certified amounts. Retentions held and retentions owed are tracked separately and reported.

Work in progress and revenue recognition are handled so the monthly P&L reflects work actually done, not just invoices raised. Variations are tracked from instruction to claim to payment.

Subcontractors and withholding tax

Schedular payments to subcontractors carry withholding tax; we manage the deductions, the IRD filing and the certificates.
